Let's eat out! We've been giving the microwave oven quite a workout here. So, five of us climbed into two planes and flew to Keene, NH to visit the Indian restaurant on the airfield. Very cool, you literally park your plane at their front door!! It was yummy, ….although the leftovers lingered in the relatively small confines of the plane for the ride home! Apologies to the poor pilot that got into N2138W the next morning….. 3月29日 Let's aviate!!A beautiful blue sky awaits us.... Kudos to Mike Ellsworth for holding the camera steady (...and his lunch down) despite the gusts. Look closely, …that’s JC in the driveway looking up at us! 3月23日 Make it fit!!Oh, oh. ....forgot about the tub. That bad boy wasn't going in via conventional methods.
Then, JC climbs into the chimney chute & removes the remaining concrete.... 3月20日 First day of spring....On March 20, 2006, at precisely 1:26 P.M. EST the Sun will cross directly over the Earth's equator. This moment is known as the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. ...it was still pretty damn cold here today!! Nonetheless, Team Jodice starts in on the addition. 3月17日 Phase One! Complete! Now it's starting to really take shape here! Team Jodice busted their asses to get this weather tight. Despite the 50mph gusts of wind, they were able to get the roof back on moments before we had a nasty snow squall blow through. Note the crew's mascot & the microwave oven they travel with...... 3月11日 Hammer time!Team Jodice arrives Friday morning with multi-tasking on the agenda! A 40' flat bed shows up with a load of materials. Rock-n-roll! One team up to the 2nd floor to start in on the floor & the other to start on the kitchen expansion.A blizzard indoors.....Despite the fact that there isn't a visible crack in the 57-year-old walls or ceilings here, it's advised to beef up the 2x6 joists on the 2nd floor. There is noticeable sagging in the living room ceiling and the load-bearing wall in the center of the house. This is due to the lack of proper support down the wall into the foundation. Again, looks like these anomalies have been there since day one. With the additional weight being introduced on the 2nd floor, ...why tempt fate?? So first order of business, remove the 50+-year-old loose-fill insulation. ...yep, serious OSHA approved masks were worn. 3月9日 But how's Santa supposed to get in then??There I am in bed, shivering & sweating at the same time, with the flu. (I'll spare you the details, but I haven't felt this bad in years!) Been dealing all day with Team Jodice's noise & dust as they demolish the 2nd floor. JC arrives home from work & decides WE need to take the chimney down, ...now. So at 5pm and me with an obscene number on the thermometer, we're off to take down the chimney! *sigh* 3月2日 Game On!After a brief hiatus, Team Jodice returns with a load of lumber and a trailer full of power tools!! First up, enclose the foundation. |
